Exploring the Beauty In Santa Fe
Welcome back to Monday Musings, this week we got to take a trip to our Santa Fe location and explore what Santa Fe had to offer. Nestled in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, our store Malouf on the Plaza proudly showcases a stunning array of handcrafted jewelry that beautifully embodies the rich heritage and artistic spirit of this city. From sterling silver creations adorned with vibrant gemstones to delicate pieces infused with Native American symbolism, Santa Fe has it all. So we welcome you to join us as we shine a spotlight on these exceptional jewelry designers, each weaving tradition and beauty into every piece.
This beautiful Coral Four Piece Set, found at Malouf on the Plaza, is handcrafted by Leonard Nez, a Navajo artist hailing from Keams Canon, Arizona. This stunning set showcases a ketoh shadow box design with eight sterling silver overlay pendants, each elegantly adorned with bezel-set Mediterranean Coral. Nez's silver jewelry is characterized by fine chisel and stamp work, along with deeply grooved silver overlay, earning him recognition and even a place in the prestigious Smithsonian Institute. Through his exceptional talent and distinctive approach, Leonard Nez has crafted a legacy that is both timeless and captivating.
Jennifer Kalled is an artist whose jewelry embodies her distinct personality and artistic vision. With a career spanning since the mid-70s, Kalled's passion for jewelry design was nurtured in Arizona, where she first learned her craft. Influenced by her Southwestern experience, she developed a profound love for colored stones, which she masterfully incorporates into her creations such as the ones pictured above. The pieces that are featured contain blue boulder opal, gold opal, as well as boulder opal. Kalled sets these beautiful stones in 22k yellow gold. These pieces challenges you to be elegantly bold.
In the image captured above a collection of Gurhan necklaces steals the spotlight. Gurhan Jewelry stands as a testament to the timeless allure of craftsmanship and innovation. When beginning his brand, Gurhan was told using 24k gold wasn’t going to pay off, setting out to disprove this idea he studied ancient goldsmithing techniques. In each piece the hard work and beauty can be seen, every piece is meticulously crafted with Gurhan's signature artistry, presenting a harmonious blend of textures, lengths, and captivating details.
